Decade - 2009-2019

This year, it has been 10 years since I bought Filcolana. It seems like a fitting time to take a look back at years that have passed – and turn this retrospection into a look book. I feel that gorgeous, classic knitting design deserves to be knitted for many, many years, and therefore we have taken a look through the boxes with the designs that Filcolana has published over the last 10 years. The greatest challenge in this process has been limiting ourselves when trying to select which designs to include, but we have ended up carefully selecting a total of 53 knitting designs, that we feel have really stood the test of time.

Some of the designs we have just re-photographed, while others have been re-knitted in new colours. Some we have even had to re-calculate, as the original 
yarn has since been discontinued.

Many talented knitting designers have created designs for Filcolana over the last 10 years, but when we went through the process of selecting the designs for this collection, one stood out. We could very easily have created a whole collection of designs by Rachel Søgaard alone, as she has made one incredible Filcolana design after another. In fact, she has contributed to every single Filcolana collection over the last 10 years. However, Filcolana´s collections have always been designed by a team of different designers and “Decade” is no exception, so the collection contains designs by a total of 12 very different and very talented knitting designers.
